  1. josh says:

yup it was a dream. and her going warewolf after not surprising

  2. minimusminor says:

If she’d gonna transform in the car…

In the words of Tankmen, “We are so fucked.”

  3. RolandKyramere says:

Aaaaaaaand…. its all a dream. Glad to see that our dynamic duo is still alive and fleeing.

  4. saper says:

yay it was a dream within a dream :) witch means Mike’s not dead and Kate did not just die yay .

  5. Robin says:

*whew* Glad that’s over. The pins and needles of suspense were seriously starting to wear me out.
Although honestly, I think it would take something alot heavier to put her down. Then again, kinda hard to say. I’ve never experienced a hail of bullets first hand.

  6. Jman says:

I didn’t realize I was holding my breath while reading this panel until I got to the end and let out a huge sigh of relief.

Mr. Tiede, you sir, know how to pile on the suspense.

  7. James says:

Yeah, hails of bullets aren’t really the kind of experience you can pass on to someone else afterward, either.

Is it just me or does ‘Shocked Kate’ looks really cute?

  8. Wanderer says:

She’s going to have a real hard time getting any sleep if this sort of thing keeps up.

  9. Michael Ruppert says:

okay, I gotta admit, I was kinda hoping for Kate to go all Hulk/Werewolf and beat their asses. just a little.

  10. sean v says:

gotta admit, didnt see the dream within a dream thing coming, nicely done ^_^

    • Vincent F. Celeste says:

The proper phrase is a Play within a Play. As said and done by William shakespere’s The tradagy of Hamlet Prince of Demark.

      • holden says:

realy since the last dream edend withb them in the car this scene had to be a dream. Also has enyon ( including the author) seen inception?

  11. Seth says:

I was hoping that was the case. It was one nasty surpise after another for Kate. Hope she’ll be able to at least get some sleep.

  12. Shame says:

    Poor Kate
I was really afraid about mike too.
Thanks God it was just a dream ^^

    Dirk you’re a master u.u

  13. zebarnabe says:

The dream within the dream ended in page 4… this was ‘just’ a dream… lol …

    Awesome work … now she is awake…. i hope…

  14. Lunaroki says:

And here we tie back in to where the previous chapter left off. Click my name to see where they were driving away and Kate closed her eyes right at the end of the chapter. Seems she must have fallen asleep shortly after that.

  15. Cindy says:

*whew* gotta say, I was beginning to wonder. Quite a scary dream!

  16. Bartimaeus says:

    Waaaake up Kate…..

  17. The Moth says:

Is it just be or dose ‘shocked Kate’ look a little mad? Like angry mad?

  18. RBrigham says:

Mr. Tiede, you sir are a master. The art work and story line are a work of art.

A couple of items need clearing up, did anyone else notice that all of the “Feds” had pointed ears (2nd panel)? And I am surprised that Kate didn’t go shaggy because of the intensity of that dream.

Any comments to help clear my mind are welcome.

    • holden says:

yes it is verry much posible that they are ware wolvs to or perhaps she is project aspects of herself into the dream. THANKY YOU SIGMUND FREUD!

  19. Jack Frost says:

The Feds had pointy ears because they are the other people from the experimental tests that Kate went through. That was shown in the last portion when the lion major met those Feds at the precinct and when Kate shot one of them before going furry in Mike’s apartment. As for dream intensity maybe her body was just to weak to transform just because of a bad dream.

  20. W. Powley says:

It was a nightmare! The question remains. Did the adrenaline kick from the dream initiate the transformation sequence? Or in other words, is werewolf Kate gonna get to go for a ride and stick her head out the window? Will they they stop at McDonald’s drive through for Quarter Pounders w/cheese?The seat belt might panic her though; that could be bad.

    • Vincent F. Celeste says:

If what you say is true or is coming next then I do this.*shoots kite’s head with a well placed shootgun round in the head* while she is at the Mcdonalds place.*shoots W.Powley with the shootgun just for him being there* Ah random words with violence in it that is the way.

      • holden says:

if I were her I would rather stop at wendy’s and get a dubble baconater and a frosty float.

      • OctoDude says:

Enhance your calm, citizen; stand down.

        Calm blue ocean, okay?

Lower your “shootgun” and let’s all be like a bunch of Fonzies…

  21. Lunaroki says:

LMAO @ the mental image of werewolf Kate riding with her head stuck out the window, tongue flapping in the breeze! Someone really needs to draw that scene. :D

    • W. Powley says:

I’m glad it made you laugh; I almost didn’t post it because this is a serious werewolf comic. The thought of Kate changing in the car made me laugh. Can you imagine a more inconvenient place to change than a car going down the highway at 60+? It would be scarier if Dirk hadn’t stated that Kate doesn’t look at Mike as Wolf Chow. She would be hungry, though, thus fast food!Every canine I have been around loves to ride in cars/trucks. The smells bombarding them at those speeds must be like cocaine to dogs!

  22. Talon says:

it would seem sleep paralysis is capable of preventing a transformation. so now to try to determine the cause. anger clearly but more then that.

    • Drgnkght says:

My money’s on Fear and Anger. Ye Olde Fight or Flight. Those are the two basic reactions to any stressful situation. I’d say those are the triggers, with heavy emphasis on fight. ;-)

  23. bunyip says:

I reckon if she woke up werewolf that Mike would get an instant convertible, ride in style.

  24. Samuriartguy says:

Whufffff! EVIL dreams… but yeah, that’s pretty much how that would have gone down…

    Fleeing. Quite superior.

  25. Zedd Overkill says:

So very, VERY glad this was a dream. Wasn’t sure up until Mike was shot and then I was like, A-HA! A dream! I hope… Thankfully, yes it was. ^_^

  26. Vincent F. Celeste says:

At last the relavation has come. I say this is only the first stage of Kate eventuly losing her humanity and the first of many calles for mike to do a merrcy killing. superiority goes to man every time. And to humanity Every time. Mike will carry the day and thats all there is to it.

  27. MadMann135 says:

By the looks of things even the wolf in Kate likes Mike, wolf-Kate is also concerned for Mike. What the wolf-Kate wants him for is still up in the air.
We all know that Mike as wolf chow is off the menu, but Mike as wolf-Kate’s cuddle cop…

  28. Tane says:

    Awesome as always!

Did anybody else notice the little bit of inconsistency on Mike’s face? He’s got blood licking out of his mouth in the first two panels, but in the third there’s nothing…

    • dirk says:

D’oh! I think I caught that, but clearly I forgot to do anything about it. One to fix before it goes to press…

      Call it dream logic?

      • Tane says:

I did think about it, how dreams tend to either be extremely gruesome, or idealize themselves sometimes. Could be Kate hoping to god he’s not really dead so the little details drift out of consistency.

  29. Karyl says:

I was wondering if she’s now got precognition and this is yet to happen, from the next place they hide out.

  30. Zudarkness says:

Damn what a wicked dream. Gotta wonder what is coming next.
