Guest Appearances: A-Kon & Anime St. Louis

It’s official! I’ll be appearing as a guest at this year’s A-Kon in Dallas, June 1st through 3rd. This is my first time down, and I’m super excited to go since I’ve wanted to make it to A-Kon for years.

I’m also thrilled to announce I’ll be returning to Anime St. Louis again this year on April 20th to the 22nd. They put on a fantastic little show, and you should come check it out.

I’ll be doing workshops and panels, and I’ll be delighted to talk art and process with anyone who’s interested in learning how to improve their drawing skills. So, if you’re in Texas, St. Louis or surrounds, give it a look-see and come out and join the fun!

A Kitchen, Completed!

As you can see, PS is back and on schedule. I’m happy to also report that the kitchen remodel is now officially complete. Well, mostly at least. There’s a few odds and ends left (y’know, like drawers?), but nothing I can’t do in my spare time. That means back to work on comics! Yay!

However, I promised y’all a final look at this masterpiece, so here you go, complete with side-by-side before & after shots:

Edit:. I neglected to mention that my Mom was a silent member of the team, working tirelessly behind the scenes working logistics to make sure we were fed and had what we needed to keep working the long hours. We could not have made it happen without her. So, thank you once again, Mom!

It took 2 months of solid work, pulling 10-14 hour days, 6-7 days a week, and we did it entirely ourselves. I’m very proud of the results, and I’m very glad to be back into the studio, ready to take on 2012.

After giving it a LOT of thought, I have decided it’s best if PS returns in the New Year. I’m leaving town to spend Christmas with family in less than a week, and the kitchen needs my full attention until then. However, I’ll be returning fresh, and I have big thIngs planned to unfold in the coming months.

So, look for Kate & Mike to return to schedule Tuesday, January ~~1st~~ 3rd. Thanks again for your patience!

Quick update.

Hey, folks. I know I owe you all an update. It’s been two weeks, and I’ve been working 12-14 hr days ever since. However, it shows!

Here’s how things look as of this morning:

It’s just me and father doing the work, so I’m really proud of how all this is turning out.

We should be finishing up this week, though we’re a few days behind schedule. I had hoped to have a week or so before the holidays to neatly wrap things up here on the site. However, it seems I may only have a day or so to do that before we leave town for Christmas. So, it looks like PS won’t be back to schedule until after the holidays. I’ll have a better idea on the details in a few days.

Kitchen Progress Continues

Apologies for the lack of updates last week. I was still immersed in the kitchen over the Thanksgiving holiday. Much left to do, though the biggest hurdles are now behind us. Cabinets are in, and countertop template has been made.

Next up is the floor, and built in hutch & pantry. If all goes well, perhaps I’ll get back to some drawing this week.

Can’t make any promises about comic updates quite yet, but watch this space.

Comic is back!

Forgot to mention this last week, but the comic is updating again after a one week break. I’ve suddenly had a bunch of paying work land in my lap, and I’ll continue PS as scheduled as best I can. I’ll give you fair warning if there will be any more temporary outages.

My apologies, but I won’t be posting a new PS update this week. Between Labor Day, SPX and paying illustration gigs (yay!), there hasn’t been enough studio time to devote to it. Instead of rushing to post a late page, I’d rather use this week to catch up and get back on track.

PS will return to regular schedule again next week, Tuesday, September ~~22nd~~ 20th!
