That’s right, kids! I’ll be in Charm City for the big, bad Otakon this weekend. If you’re looking at the Artist Alley map and scratching your head saying to yourself, “Where’s Dirk?”, fear not. I’m sharing a massive table space with my buddy Garth Graham of Finders Keepers at tables CC03-04.
I’ll also be hosting the “How to Draw Comics” workshop on Friday from 1-2pm, and duking it out at Super Art Fight! at Midnight on Saturday night (or Sunday morning for you pedants in the audience).
Here are the gory details:
How To Draw Comics
Friday, July 27, 2012
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Workshop 2 (BCC 343-344)A professional artist for over 10 years, Dirk will discuss taking a comic from an idea to a finished page and how it is more than just drawing a few pictures on a page. Dirk, the creator of the graphic novel series “Paradigm Shift”, breaks down the creation of a comic from start to finish. This workshop covers scripting, thumbnails, layout, character and background basics, inking, and digital touch-up using live and interactive demonstrations.
Super Art Fight
Saturday, July 28, 2012
12:00 AM – 2:00 AM
Panel 3 (BCC Ballroom I-II)Super Art Fight is here to melt your face and boil your brain. Artists take on a massive 6-foot-tall canvas with mystery topics and outlandish opponent attacks, only to have their plans thwarted by the Wheel of Death, a random idea generator that spins every five minutes.
Come out to the madness and look for us!
