Anyone here, other than Dirk, good with both Web and Video editing? I'd like to get my Alaskan Misadventures, perhaps other travels online. I don't like youtube since I don't control it, and they like to limit the length.
So, I'm interested in some help. I will send some Salmon as thanks, and maybe some Reindeer in time for Christmas (yes, it sound sadisitc to eat Rudolph, but Rudolph is good and organic)

Ohh, Alaskan salmon.... so tempting!!
I know some stuff about the Web, but I'm doing so much of it for work and for my own website that I can't really take on any more work. I'd be happy to answer questions or give advice, though.
As for video editing, all I can say there is "Don't use iMovie."

What is sad, is back 1995 at Millikin I new HTML.. this was early Web days you know.. but now, I'm just stupid when it comes to current Web design. I might have time to relearn, but right now I need to work on more advanced Cisco related stuff...
so the offer is out there, more of a swap deal vs. purchasing of services...

I like to think I'm a fair hand at video editting. Most of my experience is making music videos in Windows Movie Maker, but I'm moving into Adobe Premiere Elements lately.
I don't know much about web design, but I could certainly do the video part and send that back to you. I'd need your footage on DVD, though. I don't have the equipment to capture from VHS.

Everything is Digital already.
See, I can do it myself, but..I'd like to have a nicer go at it. I lack a lever of creativity when it comes to the Visual Arts. Now ask me how to get a cranky kid to go to bed.. and I'm the master.
So yes, everything is already digital. I can also provide any Voice Overs during development to explain what's going on, or what we're seeing. I intend to make an ongoing thing with this.

So you're after a travelogue/documentary kinda feel. *nods* I've watched enough of those on PBS to have an idea of how the professionals do it.
So then it comes to what sort of footage do you have, and how long you want each video installment to be, roughly.
I think I'd have to see a sample of your footage before I could estimate how much cleaning up it might take. The same tools and principles I use with anime should work for real-life footage pretty easily. A good picture is a good picture, whether it's a photo or a manga frame.
I can point you to where I get this stuff, Adam, so that you can stab at it yourself, or we can work out a way for you to send me some data and I'll what I can do with it.
