Welcome to our shiny new forum!

For those of you who don't know already, ART NIGHT is a little gathering that I've hosted for the past two (TWO!?!) years here in Chicago.  We generally meet on a weekly basis, either at my studio, or at pre-determined location or event somewhere in the city or surrounds (ie. The Urban Tea Lounge, Chicago Comics, Quimby's, or Someone Else's Place.)  We generally chat, order pizza or chinese food, view the horrors of the internet, play DDR & other video games, and, yes, actually *MAKE ART*.

So, if you find yourself in the Chicago area, temporarily or permanently, please look us up!

thanks!

Great place to meet creative otaku and comic book afficionados alike who make manga and graphic novels.

I have been considering what ART NIGHT stands for, since it is in all caps, and Dirk is not yelling, so it must be an acronym.

Well, Dirk could be yelling it every time he says it.   That would be hilarious.

Well, see, me and my friends have something going called THE STUDY GROUP in our desperate attempt to prepare for our finals. THE STUDY GROUP must always be spelt in capital letters and, where possible, bolded!

As a consequence, I always think of it being said in a deep, world shaking voice. Or maybe like the announcers in games like unreal tournament, Mortal Kombat, etc.

I'm cracking up just thinking about it.

I think I'm the only one who says (or types) ART NIGHT, but that's just how it's done.

Not an acronym, just a STATEMENT.

I suppose I'm just overly enthusiastic about it.

I'd love to make it to one of these when I hit up Chitown this fall.
