Well, I took the plunge…

Just ordered 500 books for the big convention season.

My goal is to sell 200 of them by mid-fall so I can make my money back. The rest will be around for future conventions, consigning to local and regional comic & book shops, and sending off to distributors, media, & potential clients. If I can sell them all, I’ll have a nice nest-egg to put towards doing an offset run.

So buy a book! Buy two! Tell you friends!

Fahrenheit 9/11

Saw it this afternoon.

It was a swift kick in the stomach for me.

While I already *KNEW* most of everything that Moore presents in the movie fact-wise, the way he presents brings everything into brutal clarity. Couple that with the fact that I have more or less avoided seeing most of the war imagery coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan by getting my news via radio instead of TV, and my response to this movie was visceral.

I was sick with disgust with our leaders when it was all over.

Moore may be a masterful propagandist, as some say, but if you put this movie up against the wall-to-wall bias of the 24-hour/7-day a week onslaught of the forces of the FOX News Channel, I’d say it’s like pissing in the wind. Maybe I’ll be wrong, though — especially judging by the line that stretched around the floor of the theatre waiting to get into the next showing.

People want to see. And they should. Even if you disagree with Moore or his methods, you should still see this film. And drag your Republican friends if you can. You’ll have much to discuss when it’s over.

(On a side note, I just noticed the site was down for much the weekend! Looks like I overwrote the index.html file by accident when I was uploading to another directory. Whoops! Sorry about the outage. It’s obviously fixed now.)

More new site wireframes…

Played around with implementing some of the proposed design changes into HTMl/CSS this afternoon. Still trying to decide on final information organization, and whether to have the menu on the right or the left, but it’s start.

Take a look:

Template 01 – Right Menu

Template 02 – Left Menu
